Abstract

This research examines pay in-equalities within the same organisation (Ministry of Finance Plateau Sate) and between male and female gender occupying similar positions. Furthermore, the analysis was conducted within the same ranks, Female salaries were consistently equal with male salaries for the position categories covered in this study. Questionnaires were administered by ranks and levels of staff so that the analysis of the questionnaire as regards gender inequality was identified. The research also was conducted with the following objectives: to identify the staff by gender and ranks, to identify gender gap, and to suggest how this inequality in income can be minimized between genders and ranks. At the end, the study concluded that women and men in similar positions in the same field of work made different salaries for several reasons-one of which is gender disparity.
