SIGNIFICANCE OF ‘INFAQ’ FUNDS ON YOUTH ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

Abstract

Economic youth empowerment entails providing young individuals with the necessary resources, skills and opportunities to ensure sustainable livelihood. Hence, the purpose of this study is to expound upon the concept of Infaq as discussed in the Qur’an and evaluate its contribution to societal empowerment, with a particular emphasis on fostering economic development among underprivileged youth. To accomplish the objectives of this paper, a comprehensive literature review has been conducted, encompassing the gathering of relevant verses from the Qur’an, previous research papers, internet and other sources of data pertinent to this study. Subsequently, the findings of this study rooted in the Qur’an, where Allah the Exalted elucidates various verses pertaining to Infaq and its role in economic empowerment. The outcomes revealed the economic significance of this practice, as it not only brings prosperity to the donor but also empowers the recipients and enhances the overall economy of the society.
